Staff

Owner & Lead Teacher: Alison Barnes is an early childhood education professional and a mother of 3.
She licensed as a teacher with the Massachusetts Department of Education for PK-2nd with and without
special needs and Department of Early Education and Care for Family Child Care Provider, Director I,
Direction II, and Infant/Toddler/Preschool Lead Teacher.

She studied psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi, concentrating her study on how
learning occurs for children on the autism spectrum. Her graduate level studies were completed at
Salem State University, in the area of early childhood education, grades pre-kindergarten through
second. Alison’s work experience includes early intervention (ages 0-36 months), child care (age 2 –
pre-kindergarten), and public school special education (grades K-5).

Ali currently sits on the board for the Chelmsford Special Education Parent Advisory Council (CSEPAC)
and the Family Child Care Association (FCCA). She also founded a meet up group that focuses on learning
American Sign Language, promoting an understanding of Deaf culture, and advocating for a Deaf friendly
community. Chelmsford Signs information can be found on Facebook. In her spare time she enjoys art,
reading, hiking, and going to concerts.





Use of Assistants: I do not currently use an assistant or have volunteers. If and when I do need to use
an assistant or volunteer, they will be approved by the EEC and you will know in writing ahead of time.
Parents and guardians who would like to volunteer can request a CORI; parents/guardians are welcome
to visit the child care while their child is there according to our Open Door Policy.

Staff health records, driver's licenses, certifications, DEEC qualifications, DOE licence, CPR/First Aid
certification, and documentation of orientation and professional development are kept on site.
