This month we are studying Curious George books, focusing on how to be a friend, all about me, and beginning school.
I love Curious George. He gets into all kinds of trouble - which kids think is great, of course - and the authors include both positive and negative feelings throughout the stories. This opens the door to discussions about not so happy topics in a safe way. We can talk about George's problems and how they are fixed, rather than focusing on a mistake a child made. If a child makes a connection to their own life or a problem they had, then we can talk about it when they are ready.
So, my playlist for this month includes songs about saying hello, feelings, and making friends. I also included ABC's since we began letter studies this month. Here is a classic to get you in the mood for fun:
